All Quiet of the Aquisition Front

Red Prairie the most recent, with last month JDA, recent acquisitions have great importance to the Supply Chain market, what to say of the customers, employees and investors. Yet it has been awfully quiet--the companies, the chattering classes, etc., haven't said much.

Henry Bruce, himself no stranger to the twists and turns posted this intriguing question: (see twitter post above or http://twitter.com/hebruce) "What are firms positioning/telling the customers?" Oracle, Infor, JDA, et al? Will they succeed in adding real value through these acquisitions for their customers?

Or will, as one SaaS software CEO told me, "have the integration done on the customer’s nickel"?

The challenge of messaging aside, the integration is no small feat, and over the years the promises are yet to be fulfilled on a holistic solution to the market.
